04/29/08 Board Meeting

GOLD COUNTRY SENIOR SOFTBALL EMERGENCY BOARD MEETING

Minutes, April 29, 2008

  1. Board meeting called to order at 4:30 pm, at Gateway Park #2 field grandstand.

  2. Board members present:  Wilson, Reinhardt, Furman, Kasparian, Montgomery, Eacobacci. Absent was Silveria.

3.      Subject: A fair way to handle the two late applicants for the softball season.

The consensus of the Board was that applicant D. Greiner would be ranked number 8, and because Wachovia Securities lost a number 3 ranked player to injury, the ranked players 8 through 4 would   move up in the rankings one position for team Wachovia Securities. Wachovia Securities now would have 12 players on their team. We are dealing with D. Greiner first, because his application arrived before R. Rissling’s application.

       R. Rissling was the second applicant, but with a ranking of 13. There are seven remaining teams with 12 players. Two teams ( PV Mini Storage & The Union ) each lost a player to drop from 13 players to 12. The Board voted to have a lottery pick between the 7 remaining managers for the last remaining player. All 7 managers or their designated person will meet at 5:00 pm, Thursday May 1, at #2 field grandstand and draw from a hat to determine which team R. Rissling will be placed on for the season. The 7 teams who will be in the lottery are, PV Mini Storage, Stucki Jewelers, Wachovia Securities. The Union, Taco Shell, Tack Room, and Tax Dodgers. This is a case by case decision by the Board for this season, and new rules to avoid all this confusion will be adopted for next season.

Future 2008 applicants will be discussed among the Board Members and decisions made on a case by case basis.

  1. The Board Members voted 5 yes, to 1 no, to continue with the one and one count for the remainder of the season. The Survey had 47% of responding members in favor of the one and one count.
  1. The meeting was adjourned at 5:20pm.

Bill Wilson, Secretary
