GOLD COUNTRY SENIOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

Minutes, April 1, 2008 

 

  1. Board meeting called to order at 7:21 pm, at Reinhardt residence.
  2. Board members present:  Wilson, Reinhardt, Furman, Kasparian, Silveria. Montgomery.
  3. Minutes for March 12th meeting were approved by the board members.
  4.  Gateway Park  to bring in contractor to finish the French drains for fields 1 & 2, with no start date as yet determined.
  1. Jack Madison informed the board that he is donating five yards of gravel to be spread around the backstop areas to keep the mud and dust factor down, and the board graciously accepted his offer.
  2. The Saturday player registrations totaled 33, which means we can have 3 teams. We will need another sponsor and a manager for the 3rd team. This will probably be resolved by the time members are reading these April minutes in May.
  3. The weeknight registrations totaled 125, plus 2 late applicants, which will be resolved by board consideration for placement on 2 of the 5 remaining teams that drafted 12 players.
  4. The remaining 2 weeknight sponsors are in the fold, they are Wachovia Securities and Grass Valley Ford.
  5. Rich Ramirez has resigned from the board, with Richard Eacobacci recommended and nominated to replace Rich. The Board members voted Richard onto the Board as Assistant Secretary.
  6. The Board voted that Saturday players who wanted to substitute on weeknights, be allowed to play for $4 per game with the same substitution rules as regular weeknight players have to follow, and was approved.
  7. Ball fields 1, 2, & 3, were aerated with park machinery on March 25th  by Richard Eacobacci and Bill Wilson..
  8. Ball field #2 had all bases and the offset home plate realigned accurately by Richard Eacobacci and Steve Burnett using surveyor equipment. Field #1 will be done at a later date.
  9. Advertising signs that would be displayed on the ball field outfield fences as a moneymaking project, will be discussed further about size, lettering, material, cost, etc.
  10. The DR Infield Grader machine, for our infield maintenance, arrived on April 1st and will be assembled on April 2nd.
  11. Grant Montgomery reported that uniform shirts and hats for weeknight players are ordered with a local company and will be ready shortly.
  12. Richard Eacobacci and Grant Montgomery will be placing telephone calls to all Saturday players to alert them about being at the park on Saturday April 5th for their draft.
  13. The next Board Meeting will be Wednesday May 7th, 6:30pm at the Reinhardt residence.
  14. Board Meeting adjourned at 9:20pm.
