GOLD COUNTRY SENIOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

 Approved Minutes March 12, 2008

1. Board meeting called to order at 6:55pm at Reinhardt residence.
2. Board members present:  Wilson, Reinhardt, Furman, Kasparian, Ramirez, and Silveria.
3. Bill Howland spoke before the meeting started, about 150 volunteer kids at Gateway Park, on Saturday April 19^th, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, to do cleanup and various projects. He asked the board to come up with ideas that they could put the kids to work at around the ball fields.

4.      Minutes for February 6^th meeting approved.

5.      Bruce Reinhardt tallied up all SURVEY responses (57 total) and entered the percentages, which will be put out in the upcoming newsletter.

6.      Bob Swarthout attended the meeting and talked about how we could have a list of dedicated volunteers who would do continuous maintenance on the ball fields and be able to spread the work load around. The Board asked Bob if he would compile this list of volunteers and he agreed to co-ordinate this field maintenance project.

7.      In the SURVEY about the earlier starting time, there was a 79% Yes vote to a 23% No response.  There are players that work till 5:00pm, and this would be a hardship as they barely make it to the 5:30pm start. The board agreed to keep the 5:30pm start to avoid the problem of finding substitutes for an inning or two until the players arrive.

8.      The player Draft is at 6:00pm, Sunday March 30^th, at a place that still needs to be confirmed.

9.      Monday March 31^st, will be the first of a week of practice games with each team having one game scheduled, and leading up to Monday April 7^th, for the start of the regular season.

10.  We are short one sponsor for Weeknights, and one sponsor for Saturdays. Two Managers unconfirmed.

11.  A fiscal report and a budget report will be ready for the March 22^nd general meeting at 12:30pm at ball field #2 grandstand.

12.  Sponsor/Manager for 2008.
