Announcements and News
Board seated for 2012 season. Don Pryor is Board President. Other officers are the following: Vice President - Steve Burnett; Secretary - Dick Scott; Treasurer - John Stillwell; Sgt. at Arms - Danny Brock; Asst. Secretary - Jeff Ackerman; Asst. Treasurer - Tony Clark. GCSSA held an Awards Barbeque Saturday, October 8, at Western Gateway Park. Batting titles were awarded to Bob Hare, Tom Hess, and Larry Clark for the 50's, 60's and 70's age groups in the Weeknight League, and to Rich Aguilar, Ray Patton and Dean Girdner for those age groups in the Saturday League. Joe Macrina and Bob Hare shared the Most Valuable Player award in the Weeknight League. Both players were members of the champion Union team. Ray Patton was awarded the MVP title for the Saturday League. Ray was a member of the champion Grass Valley Glass team. GCSSA Rookie of the Year was awarded to Chuck Kavros. Congratulations to The Union for winning the Weeknight League championship with a record of 27- 6, and to Grass Valley Glass for winning the Saturday League with a record of 23 - 4. The Union is managed by Jeff Ackerman; and Grass Valley Glass, by Belden Johnson. Congratulations to Bob Hannah for being selected to the Senior Softball Hall of Fame!
